Atlas VPN Streaming services

Ranked #15 out of 35 VPNs
Expert Rating :
9.2/10

Atlas VPN can help protect your privacy and anonymity when torrenting by encrypting your internet traffic and hiding your IP address. However, Atlas VPN is P2P friendly for premium locations. This means that users who subscribe to the paid version of Atlas VPN can safely torrent files from any of the VPN’s servers located in countries such as Australia, Japan, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Spain, Poland, Italy, Germany, France, and Belgium.

However, for users on the free plan, P2P file sharing is only allowed on servers located in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Los Angeles, and New York (United States). Therefore, if you are planning to use Atlas VPN primarily for torrenting, it might be worth considering the paid version for better access to more P2P-friendly locations.

When it comes to streaming, Atlas VPN offers streaming services for Los Angeles and New York for its free plan users. However, for premium locations, the VPN offers streaming services for Australia, Japan, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Spain, Poland, Italy, Germany, France, and Belgium. So, users who want to access streaming content from other countries can benefit from subscribing to the paid version of Atlas VPN.

Does Atlas VPN Support Gaming?

Yes, Atlas VPN supports gaming for both desktop and mobile players. It offers streaming-optimized servers that provide fast and reliable connections for online gaming. Additionally, it supports WireGuard protocol, which ensures a secure and seamless gaming experience.

With its unlimited simultaneous connections, users can connect multiple devices to the VPN, including gaming consoles, and enjoy a safe and private online gaming experience. It can improve the gaming experience by reducing latency, preventing DDoS attacks, and expanding game selection.

Users can download the software, connect to a preferred server, and enjoy seamless gaming without any lags or ping issues.  However, it is worth noting that Atlas VPN’s limited server network may affect the overall gaming experience for users in certain locations.

How fast can Atlas VPN perform?

Ranked #15 out of 35 VPNs
Expert Rating :
9.8/10

Atlas VPN provides fast connection speeds and unlimited bandwidth to its users. The speed of Atlas VPN may vary depending on various factors such as server distance, server load, and the user’s internet connection speed.

Here is a summary of the average speed of AtlasVPN with WireGuard in some countries:

Location Download speed (Mbps) Upload speed (Mbps)
US (NY) 243 270
UK 247 282
Germany 242 292
Sweden 256 293
Australia 210 269

Does Atlas VPN Work in China?

According to our tests, Atlas VPN does work in China. Both the free and premium versions of the VPN were successful at bypassing the Great Firewall and accessing blocked websites and apps like YouTube and Instagram. We tested the VPN on several devices and found that 80% of the Atlas VPN servers worked in Shanghai, China.

However, it’s worth noting that Atlas VPN does not use any advanced obfuscation technology, which means that it may not work in China all the time. However, Atlas VPN is more reliable than many other VPNs in China. For a more stable connection, we recommend connecting to the Japan or Singapore server locations.

We also found that the free New York and Los Angeles servers could access blocked websites, too. The only real downside of using Atlas VPN in China is the slow connection times. When using the VPN in China, it often took over 80 seconds for a server connection to be established. This can be frustrating if you need to access information quickly.

Privacy & Logging Policy

Ranked #15 out of 35 VPNs
Expert Rating :
8.5/10

Atlas VPN appears to be a secure VPN provider. The VPN has essential security features such as a no-logs policy, AES encryption, and a reliable kill switch. Although there are only two options for tunneling protocols, IKEv2 and WireGuard, both are considered to be secure.

While Atlas VPN claims to be a no-logs VPN, it logs some data, including device information and personal information. But, this data is aggregated and non-identifying, it should not pose a risk to user privacy.

In addition, it’s worth noting that Atlas VPN is based in the US, which is one of the Five Eyes countries. This could be a concern for users who prioritize privacy. That said, Atlas VPN’s private logging policy should offset some of the risks associated with being located in a Five Eyes country.

One potential downside of Atlas VPN is that it doesn’t use diskless VPN servers, which could be a risk if third parties gain access to servers.

Security & Technical Features

Ranked #15 out of 35 VPNs
Expert Rating :
7.0/10

Atlas VPN uses strong encryption to ensure the security and privacy of its users. In addition to this strong encryption, Atlas VPN also supports multiple protocols, including IKEv2 and OpenVPN, to provide users with maximum security and flexibility. These protocols allow for strong authentication and encryption, ensuring that user data remains private and secure.

Plans and Pricing: Atlas VPN

Ranked #15 out of 35 VPNs
Expert Rating :
7/10

Atlas VPN is a virtual private network (VPN) service that provides users with a secure and private internet browsing experience. The VPN service offers both free and paid plans, with varying features and pricing options.

Free Plan:

Atlas VPN offers a free plan that provides users with access to servers in three different locations: the Netherlands, Los Angeles, and New York. The free plan also includes unlimited bandwidth, which means that users can browse the internet and stream videos without any restrictions. However, the free plan does come with some limitations, such as slower connection speeds and access to a limited number of servers.

Premium Plan:

The premium plan is designed for users who require faster connection speeds and access to more servers. The premium plan includes all the features of the free plan, as well as access to servers in over 25 locations worldwide. This includes servers in the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia, and more. The premium plan also includes additional security features, such as protection against DNS leaks and malware, and the ability to block ads and tracking cookies.

Pricing:

The premium plan is available in three pricing options: monthly, yearly, and 3-years. The monthly plan costs $11.99 per month, while the yearly plan costs $4.08 per month, billed annually at $49.01. And if you choose the premium plan for three years, it will cost you around USD 1.70 per month. The yearly plan offers significant savings over the monthly plan, making it a more cost-effective option for users who plan on using the service long-term.

Atlas VPN also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for users who are not satisfied with the service. This means that users can try out the premium plan risk-free and receive a full refund if they are not satisfied with the service.

Torrenting: Is It A Great Choice?

Ranked #15 out of 35 VPNs
Expert Rating :
8.1/10

Atlas VPN supports P2P file sharing and torrenting on its servers. However, it’s important to note that not all servers allow P2P traffic, so it’s important to check which servers are optimized for P2P on the Atlas VPN app. Additionally, Atlas VPN recommends using its dedicated P2P servers for optimal speed and performance when torrenting.

Torrent Attribute Result
Average Download Bitrate 35Mbps
No. of P2P servers 10+
Logging Policy No Logs
Kill Switch Yes
Port Forwarding No

It’s worth noting that Atlas VPN’s free version also allows for torrenting, but the 500MB/month data cap may limit the number of files that can be downloaded. So, it is not an ideal option for torrenting. However, with Atlas VPN’s unlimited plan, users can enjoy unrestricted torrenting with no data caps.

Does Atlas VPN Offer An Obfuscation Tool?

Ranked #15 out of 35 VPNs
Expert Rating :
8.7/10

Atlas VPN does not offer a dedicated obfuscation tool. However, it uses advanced encryption protocols and technologies such as OpenVPN and IKEv2, which make it difficult for ISPs or other third parties to detect that a VPN connection is being used. This means that Atlas VPN can bypass firewalls and other restrictions in countries with strict internet censorship without the need for an additional obfuscation tool.
